It's misrule, if not blatant corruption

The Age has a great article about the Howard and how it has corrupted the system.
As opposition leader in 1995, John Howard promised to "ask the Auditor-General to establish a set of guidelines (for government advertising), and we will run our advertisements past the Auditor-General, and they will need to satisfy those guidelines." But once in power, he scrapped his pledge.
But yet the Australian public still voted for him and to my disgusted with a greater majority. One of my friends who has no idea about Australian politics voted for him because he thought "life was pretty good at the moment" and because I was very much against most Howard policies and voiced my opinion at every chance I get. Dam you careless Australian public who put there head in the sand and vote with there back pocket. Dam you!
